Ekonerg - Energy and Environmental Protection Institute was established in 1992 as one of two legal successors of former Institut za elektroprivredu (Institute for Electric-power Industry), proceeding in that way long tradition of successful business in the field of energy and environmental protection. By the end of 1995 Ekonerg was among the first in Croatia that received certificate on quality according to the standard ISO 9001. Ekonerg has considerable experience in environmental issues and in planning, construction, operation and maintenance of power plants and industrial facilities, as well as municipal systems. ECOlogy, ECONomy, CONsulting, eNERGy are only a few fields among many activities which are being developed inside an integrated business surrounding. Ekonerg's activities are directed towards providing services in power sector (siting, conceptual design, environmental impact and risk assessments, revitalization), energy-intensive industrial processes and other industrial plants and systems. Also, company is dealing with energy management, guarantee and performance testing, supervision, quality assurance, consulting services etc. One of the company strategies is to follow the development of new technologies, especially information technology, through huge investments in staff education and training, purchasing of the newest tools, solutions etc. Covering such a wide spectrum of activities is possible primarily due to an extremely strong staff potential and a very sound equipment base - testing, measuring and computer equipment.
