The focus of EkoSource Insight is to provide knowledge based products to support improved water management and water related risk management in Southern Africa. The company represents the knowledge based arm of the EkoSource organization. The company has maintained a close collaboration with DHI and DHI GRAS relating to the use and applications of various products and has subcontracted and worked with numerous organisations such as GTI and Hydrologic. The company is in the process of putting together a number of solutions to support water management in South Africa these include: 1. A full flood risk management and mapping exercise for South Africa later to be extended to SADC. 2. A real time flood forecasting framework for South Africa. 3. A drought monitoring frameworks to assist with better identification and management of droughts 4. A reservoir monitoring and water resources capacity prediction methodology for the SADC region. 5. A rain water and storm water harvesting prediction module for private consumers. All these aspects are set up using integrated hydrological, geo-hydrological and water resources management software. The primary variable input for these modeling applications is meteorological information and hence a partnership with the Weather Service is very important and attractive.
