The El Rey Theater is dedicated to becoming Chico's premier theatre, performance, & event venue. The El Rey Theater is open for rental to local and national businesses, event organizers, schools, churches and private citizens. The El Rey Theater also produces events in-house. The El Rey Theater’s days and hours of operation are Monday - Sunday 11am - 1am and the number of events are dependent on potential renters and the type of events. Movie nights and live music performances will be the venue’s primary focus featuring all types of movies and music genres including acoustic, folk, reggae, singer/songwriter, dance, pop, rock, and more. Movie and music genre selection will rely heavily on the demand of the local and surrounding communities. The El Rey Theater comes equipped with a state of the art line array sound system, professional lighting package, and high-definition LED video wall. The El Rey will feature events ranging from performing arts, comedy shows, public speakers, movie screenings, and film festivals. The venue will also be open to private events such as company holiday parties, celebratory events, classroom lectures, business power point presentations, etc. The El Rey will offer food and beverages whenever open. Food will feature items such as chicken tenders, pizza, hot dogs, mozzarella sticks, tacos, nachos, popcorn, candy, and more. Beverages will feature items such as bottled water, sodas, local beer & wine, and a selection of specialty cocktails.
