Eldstó Art Café/Bistró is an artistic café where all tableware is handmade on the premises by the owners G.Helga Ingadóttir, pottery artist and singer and Þór Sveinsson, potter. The coffee we serve is of an exquisite quality by Te & Kaffi and our cakes, bread and soups are homemade as well as our various small dishes. Having a delicious breakfast in our lovely café on your way south is an excellent idea. We have a special menu for groups. Opening hours: From June 1st: 8 am until 10 pm (8-22) every day of the week. Eldstó Art Gallery The couple Thor Sveinsson, potter and G. Helga Ingadóttir singer/pottery artist are the proud owners of Eldstó Art Gallery as well as the Café and Guesthouse. Their appealing applied art creations are glazed with volcanic glaze, made from pumice and other volcanic substances from Mount Hekla and clay from Búðardalur. On our big screen you can see video clips of the artists at work designing and creating original Icelandic handiwork. We proudly present our new Eldstó Guest House right above the café and gallery. There are 5 rooms for 2-4 people and two bathrooms, each with a shower. A small kitchenette and a sitting room are accessible to guests. Beds are ready made, or you can bring your own sleeping bag. Breakfast is available in the Café. Please make reservations for dinner in advance. Eldstó is right on the main route and therefore easy to find.
