The work we do to make our mission a reality falls into 4 categories: Endorsements, Grants, Trainings, and Candidate Services. Endorsements Our endorsements are a highly coveted stamp of approval for women running for state and local office throughout New York, from town board to governor. In any given year we endorse hundreds of candidates, all pro-choice Democratic women. Grants Since our founding in 2001, Eleanor’s Legacy has given out over 1 million dollars in grants! Much of that funding goes to candidates and races that are often overlooked by institutional donors. Trainings We run comprehensive, full-topic candidate trainings, both in-person throughout the state and virtually, covering every topic of campaigning. Our training program is unique in that it is completely focused on practical skills. We take all aspects of campaigning out of the theoretical realm and break it down topic-by-topic, step-by-step. We know that the skills you need to be a successful candidate can be vastly different from the qualifications that make you the right person to hold that office. When there is a knowledge gap on the campaign trail, we are here to fill it! Candidate Services We provide pro-bono services for our endorsed candidates, ensuring that our resources have significant impact. Campaign services like photography, robo calls, text messaging, and digital ads add professional resources to our candidates at no cost to their campaigns.
