About Elemental Music

Elemental Music is a nonprofit organization in the Santa Monica community. Originally founded by the Maestro Foundation, Elemental Music is an independent 501c3 nonprofit organization that serves the community of Santa Monica with a focus on the rewarding and engaging ensemble experience. We have served over 2,700 students in our programs since 2004! Elemental Music celebrates music-making and builds community through exceptional youth education programs. Our programs include: Elemental Strings Orchestras (Sinfonia and Chamber Orchestra) for elementary school-aged string students Prelude Program a beginning strings ensemble for elementary school-aged string students Elemental Band, a concert band experience for elementary school-aged woodwind, brass and percussion students Academy Philharmonic, a full orchestra program for middle school-aged string, woodwind, and brass students Elemental Guitar, an ensemble experience for elementary and middle school-aged guitar students Elemental Choir, an introductory choral program for elementary school-aged students Bergmann Program/Encore, year-round music lessons for local qualified students in grades 4 through 12 We also have 2 programs in Venice, at Broadway Elementary School and Westminster Elementary School. Additionally, we launched our Teaching Fellowship in fall 2022 with the goal of inspiring and training young teaching artists from diverse backgrounds. 4 fellows were selected to receive mentorship and cohort training with experts in the field, and hands-on practical training in our weekly rehearsals.
