Our Core Principles Evidence-based: We utilize the latest in neuroscience and music research to support our therapy practice. Music is a global neurological process, which means that multiple areas of the brain are engaged when participating in a music-based activity. We take advantage of this engagement and design therapeutic activities to specifically target client’s goals. Dynamic: As music therapists, we are the experts in creating music-based interventions that target specific skills. Music is highly motivating; therefore, it can be used to help clients work on a challenging skill with less perceived effort. We meet our clients where they are and implement effective therapy to make lasting changes. Strategic: We are constantly learning from related disciplines such as occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech therapists, and we utilize relevant strategies during music therapy sessions. We communicate the most effective methods to caregivers and offer suggestions for use in the home and community.
