Developmental Editor Reviews submissions, accepting or declining manuscripts; edits manuscripts (development/content/line editing); manages all deadlines for book development, including edits/revisions and minor cover art communication; acts as liaison between authors and management in some instances. ·Well-read and knowledgeable in romance and Romantica° fiction ·Ability to analyze story flow, plot; spot inconsistencies and logic flaws. ·Excellent skills in English language, including those little things they don't teach in school anymore, like grammar, spelling, sentence structure. ·MS Word, very good to excellent skill level. ·MS Excel basic skills. Final Line Editor Performs final copy edit on manuscript before release, double-checking the following: ·Consistency ·Coherence and choreography of physical actions. ·Correctness of facts; i.e., researching information and factual details, copyright and trademark issues. ·Grammar, sentence structure, proper word usage, effective writing, clarity, point of view.
