In 2006, University of Florida faculty and researchers came together after recognizing a need for a facility that could drive pathogen-related research in Florida. Today, the Emerging Pathogens Institute serves as a world-class research environment that fuses key disciplines to lead over 250 distinguished faculty in their quests to understand novel infectious diseases and the challenges they pose to Florida, the nation and the world.
