About Empathy is the Remedy Foundation

With our primary guiding principle, “Empathy is the Remedy”, we give Joy and inspire positive action every day to uplift people’s lives and leave our community better than we found it. Empathy is the Remedy Foundation is the brainchild of Nicole Joy Ledina, our Founder, who unfortunately passed away from a rare autoimmune condition at the age of 19 in June 2017, before she could set up the non-profit organization that she envisioned. After dealing with, mourning, and beginning to heal from Nicole's tragic loss, caretakers of Nicole's vision, dreams, and legacy, including her Family, Friends, Volunteers, and Supporters established the non-profit entity that will carry on her Mission. We hope to inspire people to be more empathetic and in turn create a force powerful enough to enact change where it counts, within the communities that are the foundation to our youth’s success. We support causes and focus our programs in the following areas: Arts and Culture • Children • Economic Empowerment • Education • Poverty Alleviation • Veterans • Health Current Programs include: -- The annual Wreaths Across America (WAA) Day to honor and remember Veterans @ Riverside National Cemetery (RNC). We are the Official WAA Location Coordinator for RNC. -- An Endowed Educational Scholarship in Nicole's name.
