About Employment Action Group - Berinsfield

A registered charity, originating in 1982, following the Dorchester Team of Churches 'Room to Grow' Conference, Employment Action Group (Berinsfield) Ltd. (EAG) came into being as a response to the high unemployment rate in Berinsfield (approaching 40% at the time). For over 30 years we have sought to improve employment and self-employment prospects through supported work or trading experience, training and job creation programmes, and to provide services in response to local needs. We aim to: * respond to local needs; providing a Job Club along with basic skills training in an informal and supportive environment * act as a facilitator between agencies and individuals whenever we can * encourage the establishment and growth of a local business network We operate the Dorchester House Business Centre, offering serviced offices and workshops to local businesses and start-ups. The revenue from this along with charitable grants that we apply for enables us to run the Job Club as well as a number of other support services.
