About Employment Solutions Society - Nova Scotia Works Employment Services Centre
We are a registered non-profit society and our staff assist individuals and employers navigate a range of no cost employment programs and services that will aid in their success. We have been serving job seekers and employers since 1994 and in 2016 we became a Nova Scotia Works – Employment Services Centre. We partner with individuals, government, community agencies and local employers to deliver our no cost inclusive employment services and programs. We help individuals with career planning, job searching and on-the-job development, and help employers with recruitment, planning and HR support in Lunenburg and Queens county, Nova Scotia. Our vision is “To inspire all people in our communities to follow a path leading to valuable employment.” We also administer the Adult Learning Opportunities (ALO) program which provides literacy skill building, as part of Nova Scotia School of Adult Learning (NSSAL). ALO's vision for Lunenburg and Queens County residents is - strong literacy, an empowered community and enhanced quality of life through lifelong learning. Through the ALO program, we develop individual learning plans to accomplish academic and non-academic goals. Services include working toward a High School Certificate or GED prep, Math, Communications, Computer Skills and more.
