About Empowering Korean Immigrants

Empowering Korean Immigrants (EKI) is a nonprofit organization based in Canada dedicated to supporting Korean immigrants through free language and cultural programs. Founded by students from the University of Toronto, EKI provides 1:1 English and Korean lessons, translation services, and children’s book readings to help newcomers adapt and thrive in their new communities. Our mission is to reduce barriers of language and discrimination by offering accessible educational support and cultural exchange opportunities. Beyond tutoring, we actively participate in local schools and libraries to share Korean traditions and foster cross-cultural understanding.
