About Encode Canada

Encode Canada is the Canadian Chapter of Encode, a US-based nonprofit with over 1,000 members in 30 countries. Through legislative advocacy and public education, Encode is shaping the future of history’s most transformative technology. Founded in 2021, Encode Canada conducts research, hosts events, and engages in advocacy work to bridge the gap between students and academics, professionals, and policymakers. Encode Canada’s partners include MUTEK, Building 21, and the Montreal AI Ethics Institute. Additionally, EC's speaker series has featured experts from Mila - Quebec AI Institute, IBM, Women in AI and Robotics, and more. Since its founding, EC has seen growing interest in its cause, and currently has a team of +20 multidisciplinary executives based primarily out of Montreal.
