About EngageKY
EngageKY, formerly known as Kentucky Campus Compact, has a rich history rooted in fostering community and civic engagement in Kentucky’s higher education institutions. Established in 2006, EngageKY has been a statewide leader in building a strong network throughout higher education to create positive change in our communities. We view colleges and universities as vital agents and architects of a diverse democracy, committed to educating students for responsible citizenship in ways that both deepen their education and improve the quality of community life. EngageKY supports the distinctive civic work of each of its member campuses, while also striving to enhance collaboration, learning, and collective impact across our coalition. We do this through the following programs: 1) AmeriCorps Combating poverty and building capacity in Kentucky by placing AmeriCorps members in Kentucky high schools, member campuses, and nonprofit organizations. Kentucky Campus Compact host the College Coaches and TASK VISTA programs. 2) Dialogues Opportunities to bring community members together to talk about issues most important to them. 3) Events Both in-person and web-based professional development and networking events with civic and community engagement staff, community partners, faculty, presidents/chancellors, students, and other stakeholders 4) Initiatives Special projects that leverage funding and other resources to support members’ good work on high-priority issues
