About Enginering@work - Shell Eco-Marathon
The Hydro Cruisers - Shell Eco-marathon De Shell Eco- marathon is een duurzaamheids race georganiseerd vanuit Shell. Middelbare scholen, MBO’s, HBO’s en Universiteiten worden uitgedaagd om de meeste meters te rijden op zo min mogelijk brandstof. Hierin zijn meerdere klasse. Het race team van de T.I.S. Delft “The Hydro Cruisers” doet mee aan de UrbanConcept klasse op waterstof. In deze klasse is het de bedoeling dat de race auto de basis eisen bevat van een doorsnee auto. De reden dat wij voor deze klasse hebben gekozen is, omdat deze klasse in onze visie het meest dicht bij een reële auto die ook in het dagelijks leven gebruikt kan worden komt. Een winnend team The Hydro Cruisers hebben een reputatie hoog te houden. Zowel in 2007 ,2008 en in 2010 zijn The Hydro Cruisers op de eerste plaats beëindigd en hebben zij tevens gereden 848 kilometer op 1 liter euro 95 benzine gereden. In 2009 is het team tweede geworden.
