About Enova Community Energy

Enova Community Energy is facilitating local communities to take control of their own energy supplies and make the transition to renewable energy easier for all, while helping to move away from fossil fuels and reduce the impact of climate change. As Australia’s first community-owned and renewable focused energy provider, Enova was established to help change the nation’s centralised, coal dependent energy system, by facilitating communities to take control of their own energy solutions. Through a range of innovative projects it aims to help build a decentralised energy system where households and businesses can generate, store and share their own renewable energy and lower costs. By taking care of their own energy, communities can then keep money circulating in local economies to benefit people, jobs and businesses. As a social enterprise, Enova Community Energy returns 50% of profits (after tax and reinvestment) from its retail arm Enova Energy, into it’s not-for-profit arm; Enova Community. A registered charity, Enova Community works to help all members of the community (including people on lower incomes and groups with limited funds) to reduce their energy use and access renewables. It's retail arm, Enova Energy, is an energy provider for residential and small business customers. Enova Energy services all of New South Wales and South East Queensland as of March 2021. All of us at Enova Community Energy acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we operate our business, the Arakwal people of the Bundjalung Nation. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We extend our respect to the Midjungbal people to the north, the Widjabal people to the west, and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people gathered in the places where we operate. Enova celebrates the rich history of the world's oldest living culture and their continuing connection to land, water and community.
