Over the course of one weekend, hundreds of brilliant minds gather to participate in interactive workshops, insightful speaker panels and networking activities. Each year, we aim to create a conference that provides participants with an immersive experience where they explore the many facets of the industry, including but not limited to media, music, film, events, nightlife, and visual arts. The conference was founded in 2012 by a McGill Desautels Faculty of Management student, and has grown to attract over 400 attendees in recent years while bringing in numerous prominent industry leaders. In the past, we have welcomed speakers and sponsors from evenko, Paradigm Talent Agency, Dulcedo, Cirque du Soleil, The National Film Board of Canada, Sid Lee, Piknic Électronik, Warner Bros. Games and many other leading organizations in the entertainment industry. EMC has also won multiple awards including Best Campus Life Funded Project by the Student Society of McGill University for 2013 and 2014, and was recently awarded the 2017 Best Conference Award by the Management Undergraduate Society at McGill. All proceeds of the conference will go to the evenko foundation, a non-profit organization that supports youth between the ages of 5 to 25 in pursuing their artistic endeavours.
