With an emphasis on healthcare, Enviah is taking the lead in developing ways to align built environments with operations, by removing the barriers that are working against staff success and patient satisfaction. Rather than designing spaces around the existing processes and culture, Enviah designs processes, cultures, and spaces oriented around our clients’ goals. Enviah works at the intersection of medicine and processes, people and systems, spaces and technology, bringing an evidence-based strategy to people-centered projects. Using thoughtful research, targeted studies, and statistical analysis, Enviah provides critical and reliable data about systems integration to decision-makers, increasing the likelihood of a successful outcome. Enviah was founded by Dr. Lorissa MacAllister, a thought leader in the healthcare and transformative design fields, and she focuses on the way people interact with – and are affected by—the physical environment. With a background in architecture and medical social work, Dr. MacAllister has blended her experience to pioneer a unique, evidence-based approach in the health care industry and beyond. Enviah is also a WBENC-certified Women’s Business Enterprise. Dr. MacAllister has worked with some of the largest health care systems in the country, leading operational assessments and facilitating the integration of people and place with a clear process. Her research focuses on exploring direct outcome measures such as HCAHPS scores, effectiveness and productivity. MacAllister serves on multiple national boards; she earned a PhD in architecture, culture, and behavior from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
