Our mission is to empower parents, reduce social services involvement, and enhance outcomes for African children by offering vital support and guidance. EPACUK offers the following services: Parenting Courses - Culturally informed parenting support for African parents or carers to navigate diverse cultural contexts in child-rearing, including UK parenting norms and safeguarding laws incorporating cultural awareness, sensitivity, and competence into parenting practices. Culturally Competent Assessments - Culturally sensitive parenting and risk assessments that take into account cultural intricacies, offering a comprehensive understanding of parenting practices within specific cultural contexts. Consultancy Services - Expert advice and training for professionals and organisations on African parenting styles, recognising the evolving nature of cultural influences on parenting practices. Peer Parenting Support - Fortnightly online parenting support group that is specifically designed for African parents who have migrated to the UK. This support group covers various topics including adapting to life in the UK, UK safeguarding laws and parenting norms, managing cultural challenges and expectations within UK society, supporting children’s education, building community links, and strengthening support networks.
