About EPD North America
EPD North America registers and publishes independently verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for businesses operating in Canada and the United States. EPD North America is part of The International EPD System. EPDs are a standardized and transparent way of communicating a range of environmental impacts of goods and services. All data presented in an EPD is determined using a ISO based Life Cycle Assessment methodologies and published Product Category Rules (PCRs). EPDs allowing a user to easily interpret the environmental performance (most commonly carbon footprint) of a product or service. EPD North America supports EPDs for the US Federal Government, General Services Administration (GSA), DOTs, Buy Clean Requirements and the USGBC LEED Rating System(s). EPD North America is also working globally to harmonize digital EPD requirements for the future. EPD North America is a Program Operator for type III environmental declarations according to ISO 14025, the General Programme Instructions of the International EPD® System and a North American Regional Annex. This arrangement and the access it provides to the PCRs developed by the International EPD System provides a credible, harmonized and efficient global platform for communicating environmental information.
