About EPIC Learning Centre Victoria
EPIC Learning Centre (EPIC) is a community-created, nature-based K- 5 OL centre in Victoria, BC. We are excited to announce a new site partnership with Power to Be on Prospect Lake, the traditional land of the Songhees, Esquimalt, Malahat and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples. Learning at EPIC is deeply rooted in the natural world and our goal is to build a multi-generational, diverse learning community. Learning takes place in intimate cohorts (up to 18 students) on-site three days a week. Families continue their learning at home on other days of the week. Each cohort is guided by 2-3 adults who bring their extensive outdoor education training and experience mentoring children to EPIC. A BC certified teacher leads the on-site program 2 days of the week and supervises each student’s home learning throughout the year. EPIC works in collaboration with Navigate NIDES from School District 71 (SD71) as a part of the Heartwood Learning Community. While we are administratively associated with SD71, we are Victoria-based and learners do not need to be located in SD71 to participate.
