About Equal Trade Alliance
PURPOSES AND STRATEGIES ETA is a Campaign Organization which is established to promote equal redistribution of wealth along the value chains of African raw materials and natural resources. ETA is an NGO that uses awareness creation, academic research, and advocacy on national, regional, and global levels to address the issue of unequal trade relationship between African countries and their trade partners from the international community. Its role is to advocate the adoption of the Equal Trade Certification, that will allow African countries and producers to receive shares in the financial benefits of the (semi-)finished products made from the African raw materials (agricultural, minerals). VISION To be the global leader in eradication of poverty in Africa. We envision a world with an equitable distribution of wealth, equal representation of stakeholders in the value chains of commodities, the recognition of the modern-day legacies of burdensome histories, respect for cultural diversity, and good quality of life for every human and non-human being. In other words, we are passionate about working towards leaving behind a just world. A world that is modeled upon the idea that no one deserves to be dominated or is entitled to dominating disempowered others. MISSION STATEMENT To engage and contribute to a systemic change with respect to the trade system of African raw materials, by shaping of trade policies that are in line with global and sustainable development agenda, while involving youth, experts and other stakeholders to achieve our goals.
