About Equi-Kids Therapeutic Riding Program
EQUI-KIDS provides, promotes and supports equine-assisted activities for individuals with mentally, physically, emotionally, socially or learning disabling conditions. grown to become one of the largest accredited equine riding programs in the country benefiting the special needs community. EQUI-KIDS is a Premier Accredited Center through PATH, Intl. and a member of the Therapeutic Riding Association of Virginia. Our therapeutic riding instructors are PATH, Intl. certified and continue their education every year to ensure the highest level of professionalism in the industry. Our team of hard-working horses provide equine-assisted activities to a diverse group of riders each week and our programs offer support to individuals with disabilities such as Down syndrome, autism, spina bifida, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, amputation, mental and physical disabilities, attention deficit disorder and more. Located on 92 acres in the Sandbridge area of Virginia Beach, EQUI-KIDS is home to a state-of-the-art facility, including a 24-stall barn, indoor riding arena, administrative building and large storage facility. EQUI-KIDS provides a variety of services, such as therapeutic horseback riding, EQUI-VETS program for injured veterans, School Partnership Program with Virginia Beach City Public Schools, hippotherapy and equine-assisted psychotherapy.
