About Equip Nj

We are Equitable Policies in New Jersey (EQUIP NJ), an intermediary initiative aimed at strengthening the ecosystem of organizations working to advance equity and social justice in New Jersey. Members of the advocacy and racial justice fields have shaped EQUIP NJ’s design, priorities, and vision. With their continued support and input, EQUIP NJ will pilot new ways of decision-making through distributed leadership and empowerment of those most impacted. Currently, organizations in New Jersey working towards social justice and equity through statewide policy change and implementation are underfunded, under-resourced, and overstretched. EQUIP NJ believes that to create sustainable health equity change, there needs to be a resilient and supported ecosystem. To that end, EQUIP NJ will focus on statewide infrastructure building, the often overlooked and underfunded yet critical backbone that makes other work possible. This goes beyond individual organizations and programs and includes the resources, skills, networks, and people that serve the whole ecosystem.
