It started with a mission inspired by real-life experiences. The disenfranchised woman who works for a financial advisory firm that makes her feel alone — no like-minded mentor or advocate to rely on for advice. The woman who is overloaded with stress and anxiety, struggling to balance childcare and family obligations with a demanding job that doesn’t pay her the wage she deserves. The woman with dreams of starting her own advisory business, but no network or resources to propel her forward. Equita Financial Network was born out of a mission to create real, tangible change in the financial services industry — and it’s what drives everything we do. Co-founded by Bridget Venus Grimes and Katie Burke, Equita empowers independent, women-led financial planning firms to provide outstanding service to their clients, achieve business success, and leverage a network that allows them to do their life’s work without sacrificing what matters most. Together, we're committed to increasing the number of female-owned and -led financial planning firms in our industry and attracting more women to the field. In addition to providing a platform of leading client solutions to foster growth and service excellence, Equita has created a community that gives member firms organic outlets for mentorship, and opportunities to share best practices, resources, experiences, and even succession planning strategies.
