About Ercol Furniture
Design has always been at the heart of ercol - design for comfort, design for function, design for beauty. As well as our in-house design team, we commission some of the best in British design talent to bring you some outstanding furniture. Our designs constantly evolve to reflect how you live today, whilst continuing to reflect ercol’s quality and craftsmanship. A great British company, ercol has invested heavily in UK manufacturing, moving to a state of the art, purpose built new factory in Buckinghamshire in 2002. The long service of our 150-strong workforce provide the skilled craftsmen needed to make ercol furniture from the beautiful timbers with which we work. Our furniture is predominantly made from elm, beech ash and oak. ercol works equally enthusiastically with the craftsmen in our partners in manufacturing companies spread across the world from Europe to the Far East. They all contribute to the depth and breadth of ercol furniture. ercol sells through a network of prestige retailers throughout the UK and around the globe for the domestic furniture market. We also provide furniture for the contract market. Caring for the environment comes naturally to ercol, with our energy efficient factory with its biomass boiler fuelled by our wood waste, our avoidance of solvent based finishes, in favour of more environmentally friendly water based finishes, and of course in the use of timber from naturally regenerative forests in Europe and America to make our furniture.
