About Ericeira Surf Clube
Ericeira Surf Clube (ESC) is a non-profit sports association, founded in 1993 with the aim of promoting and regulating the practice of water sports in the municipality of Mafra. With more than 800 associate club members, including 30 associated surf schools, ESC is affiliated in the Portuguese Surfing Federation with 223 athletes supported by a technical team with more than 100 coaches, technical directors and federated judges. Sportily, it organizes several competitions of Surf, Bodyboard, Longboard, SUP Wave and Skimboard. Also supports the realization of sporting events on the Surfing world and national circuits, namely competitions of WSL, WQS, Surfing Cup of Portugal and the National Surfing Championships of Afghanistan and Austria in Ericeira. Its Training School promotes and develops technical and sporting skills in surfing athletes, judges, coaches and technical directors, as well as personal, social and civic skills in commun citizens. ESC is an executive member of the Board of the Ericeira World Surf Reserve and the World Surf Cities Network, member of the Municipal Tourism Council and belongs to the advisory board of Ericeira Business Factory. It supports with structure and staff the promotion and realization of Surfing in the Municipality School Sports Program and actively participates in classes of the Vocational Training Course - Sea and Tourism, promoted by Escola EB 23 da Ericeira. At the social level and in the field of sustainable development, ESC promotes and executes several education, training and social innovation programs focused on the practice of Surfing and in the Ericeira World Surfing Reserve, namely the surf2win and surfingwisely (student population), surfing4all (people in situation of social exclusion), surfing4family (seniors and local families), surfing4cityzenship (NEET youth, ethnic minorities), surfing4sustainability (seniors, women, youth and children), surfing4inclusion (people with disabilities)
