Essex Shipping Services was established in 1989 as an independent and privately owned company. We are a ship broking and consultancy company with a clientele ranging from single-ship owners to small products and chemicals traders up to major international oil companies. We have extensive experience of liquids cargoes ranging from a few hundred to tens of thousands of tonnes, shipping both regionally and worldwide. A recent addition to our portfolio is dry bulk cargo in Eastern Europe, where we have shipped everything from grain and urea to building materials. Our staff are drawn from across the industry including former ship owners and ships' agents, and have a huge depth of experience from ship and cargo chartering to vessel management and marketing. As a small private brokerage we are not beholden to shareholders and can focus our energy and attention on our select group of clients. It's the quality of our charterers and ship owners that matters to us, not their size, so we respect all of our regular customers equally - as professionals. This independence from any large parent company means our customers can be assured that the information and history of the business entrusted to us is treated with the utmost discretion; we are not compelled to use it for our own benefit by divulging it to the wider market. This is just one of the reasons why so many of our client relationships have lasted decades.
