About Estate of Tseng Kwong Chi
The Estate of Tseng Kwong Chi is managed by Muna Tseng Dance Projects, to preserve the legacy and manage the vast archive of over 100,000 images by the late photographer Tseng Kwong Chi (1950-1990) who was born in Hong Kong, and worked in New York in the 1980's. Tseng created two major bodies of work: the black & white self-portraits known as "The Expeditionary Series: 1979-1989" or "East Meets West"; and captured many artists of the 1980's New York art world, including the largest archive in the world of his good friend Keith Haring, as well as Warhol, Basquiat, Scharf and many others. Prints from this important archive are actively exhibited in museums and galleries around the world, as well as published and licensed in books, films, catalogues, magazines.
