About Este Poder

Este Poder is a non-partisan nonprofit cultivating a culture of civic engagement by empowering, educating, and mobilizing rural East Texas communities of color. Our communities have continuously been overlooked when it comes to making decisions for our future. We aim to invigorate passion and critical thinking throughout our communities by addressing the issues that impact us most like immigration, healthcare, wealth inequality, and racism. Our objective is to challenge established structures that have perpetually marginalized and oppressed through social, economic, and racial frameworks. As a 501(c)3 organization, we organize and advocate for equitable reform of key issues through civic engagement and year round organizing.
