The Eurogen River Platform is designed and manufactured as a ‘stand alone’ modular power station, commercialising the potential energy contained in free flowing river currents. The dimensions and performance characteristics have been optimised, each producing up to 100 kWe of constant power. The Eurogen River Platform is cost effective to install. The unit can be readily moored in a fixed position in the constant river current and is able to be tethered with “off the shelf” dynamic anchoring systems commonly used in oil and gas field development. The only minor engineering works required for the Eurogen River Platform is locating anchoring points on the river bank. This significantly minimizes installation costs, increases the number of suitable deployment locations and dismisses the need for lengthy and expensive planning and approval processes. The unit is also completely modular and portable, which allows multiple or singular units to be deployed in the one location and facilitates easy transfer to different locations if required.
