Evaccess offers the most complete range of access and evacuation chairs to embrace the Fire Reform Order and Equality Act. We are the UK importers for the Sunwa and Antano range of products covering all types of stairs. People in wheelchairs should remain in the wheelchairs in the event of an emergency and we offer these options as well as our range for those who can transfer. Stair Climbers for Goods and People. We have just developed a stair climber that is for moving goods that works on escalators as well as stairs! It is not the responsibility of the fire services, anymore, to rescue or evacuate people; it is the owner, landlord, employer or responsible person’s responsibility to evacuate a building and provide reasonable access. We quickly identified that the majority of evacuation chairs recommended were only for downward evacuation and people had to be transferred from their wheelchairs to be evacuated or left in refuge areas. We are different because we don’t try to make what’s in our range fit the customer, but rather work closely to provide products that are bespoke. If we do not have anything appropriate, we work with other design and manufacturing companies so we can provide the best solution We offer one downward manual chair; the remainder of our range is powered giving upward and downward travel. As they are powered they substantially reduce manual handling issues for operators. The manual chair is also in a brake position until operated. All our equipment have inbuilt failsafe safety features. The advantage of our products is that they can be used in any situation such as lift breakdown, fire evacuation, building access, reducing delays for less mobile people, no waiting for lifts to be repaired, the fire service to arrive or building ramps to be built. We also supply platform lifts, evacuation lifts and flex steps.
