About Evansville-Area Trails Coalition

The Evansville Trails Coalition originated from a meeting held by a small group of passionate people who met to discuss their concerns for the pedestrian, bicycle routes, and trails in our community in 2009. The goal was to bridge the gap and assist the city's efforts to develop and connect the Pigeon Creek Greenway. Our Vision is to see a more vibrant and active Evansville, in which multiuse trails are integrated into daily living and in everything we do, through advocacy efforts, partnerships, activities, and programs such as Upgrade Bike Share, Trailblazer Urban Hikes, Trails Count, and others, we work toward the built environment improvements that support the human-powered movement of people of all ages and abilities. The connections of our wards, districts, and regional cities are important for those who run, bike, wheel, and use other forms of recreation and active transportation safely, for health, wellness, and alternative transportation as part of their daily routine. - Accessible Multiuse Trails Are Inclusive Recreation & Active Transportation Ways That Support Active Living, Recreation, Wellness, & Alternative Transportation Options. -Trails Connect Communities To One Another And Provide Access To Important Destinations. -Trails Provide Connections & A Means For Safe Movement Between Wards, Districts And Regional Cities.
