The statistics below are depressing, we believe we have created a much needed platform for female investors. The UK has amongst the most active global Angel Investors, BUT are you aware how shockingly under - represented women are in the investment community? • Only 2.2% of US/UK venture capital funds are invested in female led businesses. • For every £1 of venture capital investment in the UK, all female founder teams receive less than 1p. In comparison all male founder teams receive 89p. • Therefore it will take 25 years for all female teams to secure 10% of all funding. • 83% of deals that UK Venture Capitalists made in 2018, had no women at all on the founding teams! Yet Research from FTSE-100 listed stockbroker Hargreaves Lansdown, shows their female clients perform better than men over a three-year period – published 2018.
