About Everyday Feathers Foundation
We’ve all had that dog. The one who stole your heart the moment your eyes met. For me, that was Brody. I knew instantly he was special. Brody came home in July 2012. For 9 beautiful years, he filled our lives with unconditional love and joy. His silly antics, kind soul, and love for life brought smiles to everyone he met—both in person and online. He lived every day to the fullest, the way only a Labrador knows how: full of love, full of joy… everyday. In June 2021, Brody was diagnosed with Amelanotic Oral Melanoma. Just five weeks later, we had to say goodbye. It was heartbreaking. But in those darkest days, we were surrounded by kindness—meals from neighbors, pool time with friends, gift cards for his beloved Puppuccinos, and help with treatment costs. That outpouring of love showed us Brody’s impact. The day after he passed, I found a white feather. I’d never noticed feathers before, but suddenly they appeared everywhere—in impossible places and perfect moments. I’ve come to believe they’re a sign Brody is still with me, reminding me of the love we shared. Inspired by his legacy, the Everyday Feathers Foundation was started to: • Support families with dogs battling cancer • Fund canine cancer research • Promote therapy and service dogs for mental health As a school psychologist, I’ve seen firsthand the healing power of dogs. This foundation is rooted in the belief that dogs are more than pets—they’re family, and their love is life-changing. Our mission is simple: spread kindness, love, and joy… Everyday.
