Grief and trauma can do a number on our sense of self-worth and self-confidence which can cause us to stay stuck in our past, be defined by what happened to us, and controlled by our fear so that we don't move forward or allow ourselves to feel joy or happiness. Moving forward does not mean forgetting. It means intentionally choosing YOU and taking back your power, taking with you only that which continues to serve you and leaving the rest behind.
