About Evolve on Purpose

I help people and organizations who are committed to tackling tough, complex social problems find the "rungs on the ladder" towards a solution. Everywhere you look, you see social and environmental problems that remain unsolved. Often, this isn't because there's not enough money being thrown at them, but because the underlying systems are broken. Addressing these systemic issues is a complex challenge. Unfortunately, we often try to address complex challenges using strategies designed for complicated challenges. For complicated challenges, solutions can be planned, results are replicable, and experts have all the answers. Complex challenges are messy and unpredictable. They are about power, relationships, and paradigms. Experts do not have all the answers and are sometimes part of the problem. I am a member of a growing global community of social change thinkers, activists, and practitioners who understands that we must stop treating complex challenges as if they are complicated. We are pioneers of new approaches to problem solving - ones that embrace relationships, experimentation, story-telling and whole-systems thinking to search for solutions. We understand the strategic implications of complexity and know how to respond to it, rather than be enslaved by it. Through my practice, Evolve on Purpose, I seek out people and organizations who are committed to systemic change. I help them achieve their visions by investing my knowledge, leadership, and skills. I love to work with people who are frustrated with the limitations on their impact, and who are willing to think systemically, take risks, and be leaders in moving past "business-as-usual".
