ESP is a sterile processing consulting firm that addresses issues within the sterile processing area and operating room. Our designed processes help build the foundation for a successful sterile processing department while creating readiness for CMS regulatory compliance. As directors, managers, educators, and mentors over the last 40+ years our goal has been to evolve the expertise of those around me. The exception is that we did not stop at the Sterile Processing Department. Engaging Surgical Services, Infection Control, Risk Management, and other departments like Environmental Service creates an environment for success - a partnership designed to keep our patients safe while establishing great customer service. Keeping abreast of our ever-changing environment in sterile processing is difficult. We have been engaged with the Hospital Sterile Processing Association (formerly IAHCSMM) for over 37 years. Our team has served on the Foundation Board, as a Board Member, and as a Chapter Representative. We are Subject Matter Experts for HSPA and have worked on the content for all four certification programs. We also serve as an AAMI workgroup member. Lastly, our team has the distinction of being HSPA's educator of the year in 2016, and we have the distinction of being a Past President of the Mid-Atlantic Central Service Association. Our most recent accomplishment was completing the technical writing for the sterile processing chapters for the World of Surgical Instruments for Animal Health published by Rick Shultz at RMPS Publishing.
