About Ewalu Camp & Retreat Center

Camp Ewalu is a year-round ministry that primarily serves over 200 Lutheran congregations in Eastern Iowa with 1,000 youth participating in our summer programs and nearly 1,000 more through our Day Camp evangelism program. We also see 2,500 environmental education students and nearly 6,500 additional youth and adults who come to renew and grow in their faith. Our ministry also offers hospitality and services year-round for groups of all sizes. Reservations are welcome from families, peer groups, churches, schools, colleges, agencies, business, and civic groups. Operating on two sites near Strawberry Point, Iowa, the camp hosts day and overnight groups with various accommodation requests. Experience custom programs, a full menu, and many lodging options. Plus, your group can take advantage of 2+ miles of the Maquoketa River on the Ewalu property, 12+ miles of private trails, 800 acres of beautiful footbridges, natural prairies, rock grottos and water features.
