About Excelsior Village Academies

Excelsior Village Academies is the first K-8 public charter school in Henry County, serving students across Henry, APS, Dekalb, Fulton and Clayton counties. Our mission at Excelsior Village Academies is to provide quality K-8 school choice by offering a rigorous academic program in a community centered learning environment. Students will develop the skills needed to thrive in college and careers. We guide our students to be intuitive in their thinking, excellent problem solvers and to be skilled communicators who are able to work collaboratively while having awareness of others and their differing ways of thinking. We teach a knowledge-based curriculum building strong foundations for later learning and opens doors to effective participation and mutual understanding in a global society. We nurture a positive school culture where students feel interconnected, emboldened, and secure to take academic risks. We support the development of our faculty strategically and profoundly by providing ongoing professional training and support and encourage our educators to collaborate with intention and challenge and motivate each other to attain great outcomes in turn creating a palpable sense of reciprocal teaching and learning.
