About Exeter Women in Politics Society
Women in Politics is a society, founded by and led by women, that strives to draw attention to the challenges faced by Women throughout politics, founded by and led by Women. We create a platform for the discussion of these issues amongst students, staff and professionals. Our main focus is on the lack of women in top positions throughout the political sphere and thus there is an “old boys network” within politics. Focusing on bringing women politics students and women interested in politics to find like minded people, with aims to empower and support women interested in political engagement, leadership roles, and advocacy. Women in Politics is a forward thinking society for students who have an interest in politics, interested in a political profession or students who are currently studying politics. We aim to have a focus on women’s issues and political careers. We hope to help equip the future generation of women politicians, help empower them and support them through their journey.
