Established in July 2014, Expand Capital is a company specialized in principal investments and strategic financial consulting. Created by a team with over 20 years of experience, the firm is an independent project based on three main values: transparency, integrity and discipline. Management´s relevant stake in the company fosters effective risk sharing and total alignment of interests between management and shareholders. The Investment Strategy of Expand Capital is based on an absolute return approach (alpha) aiming to achieve a stable return over the medium and long run to shareholders. The firm invests in several different asset classes, ranging from Alternative Investments (such as NPL´s, direct corporate loans and mezzanine debt and capital) to Primary and Secondary markets, with particular focus on income generating assets. We favor South European peripheral markets, as well as High Yield and Emerging markets. Alternative Investments play an important role in the creation of shareholder’s value. The low correlation of this asset class with the capital markets, together with their ability to generate a positive cash flow, helps reduce the portfolio volatility and improve the sustainability of Expand Capital´s revenue.
