About Fabrik Architects

Fabrik Architects was established in 2016 and is the evolution of Founder Joe Smithers’s 20 years of working within the historic fabric of London. We are a design-led practice with a meticulous approach to architecture. For us, design is as much about the fine print as the headlines, the feel of a door handle in your palm, the framing of a painting in an archway, or the delicate play of sunlight on a wall. Our approach is to find solutions which are neither pastiche nor overbearing to their context. Instead, our proposals have added a distinct contemporary ‘strata’ to the reading of buildings with modesty and beauty. Our philosophy is to combine expertise and knowledge with fresh ideas. Highly skilled architects sit alongside new emerging talent. Recent commissions include new build private residence in Notting Hill, The Sardine Can townhouse development in Dublin, Private members wellness and training facilities and rural eco-housing schemes.
