About Fairbanks Arts Association
Fairbanks Arts plays a leadership role in the arts community by providing opportunities and resources for artists, organizations, and arts participants and works to create healthier communities through the arts. Programs and services include (but are not limited to): • VISUAL ARTS: Monthly exhibits of statewide artists, touring exhibits, and group shows as well as a gift shop featuring local artists, artisans, and authors. • LITERARY ARTS: Monthly literary readings, an annual statewide poetry contest, writing workshops, and more. • PERFORMING ARTS: Free, nightly outdoor performance series in the summer. • ARTS EDUCATION: Artist-in-Schools program and coordination of school performances by local presenting organizations for FNSBSD students. • ADVOCACY & AWARENESS: FAA serves on committees to represent the voices of our arts community, advocates for the arts, and serves as an informational resource to visitors and locals alike. • PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT & TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE for individuals and organizations: FAA hosts community arts meetings, offers grant-writing assistance, holds teaching artist training, and hosts professional development workshops.
