About Fallingwater
Fallingwater is hailed internationally as a masterpiece of 20th-century architecture and is one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most widely acclaimed works. Designed in 1935 for the Kaufmann family of Pittsburgh, Fallingwater best exemplifies Wright’s philosophy of organic architecture: the harmonious union of art and nature. Entrusted to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy in 1963, this dramatically cantilevered house over a waterfall is open to the public as a museum and is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in recognition of its outstanding value and global significance.
