About Families As Allies
Established in 1990, Families as Allies is the only family-run statewide organization for parents and caregivers of children with mental health challenges in Mississippi. We provide a wide array of parent-to-parent support throughout the state. We advocate for and work towards improving the systems that serve our children. Families As Allies is the state chapter of the National Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health as well as the designated Statewide Family Network for Mississippi. We are funded in part by grants from The Mississippi Arts Commission, The Center for Mental Health Services, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the Mississippi Department of Mental Health. We also receive funds from local and regional contracts as well as private donations. Our mission is to make sure that families are partners in all aspects of their children’s care.
