Family.cards is an AgeTech startup on a mission to bridge the digital divide for seniors, enabling them to stay connected with their families and the digital world through an intuitive and accessible platform. We transform the television—already a familiar and trusted device for many seniors—into a central hub for communication, entertainment, and digital services. Our innovative system uses a simple card reader that connects to any TV via HDMI. Each card triggers a specific function, such as video calls, photo sharing, or streaming, without the need for complicated menus, remote controls, or technical knowledge. With family.cards, elderly users can enjoy barrier-free access to essential services like telemedicine and personalized content, while their relatives can rest assured that their loved ones are connected, entertained, and safe. At family.cards, we believe in simplifying technology for the elderly to foster independence, enhance well-being, and strengthen family connections. Our vision is to empower seniors to participate in the digital world, making their golden years as fulfilling and connected as possible. The problem is that because of these limitations they can’t access the tools that would provide them with safety, health management, therapy and human connection that they need in their specific situation. Thus these seniors are living a more limited life and oftentimes have to move to a form of assisted living arrangement earlier. They need a solution that is extremely simple to use which eliminates all the usage barriers and gives them access to all the tools they need to manage their situation.
