Trauma is often the result of an overwhelming amount of stress that exceeds one’s ability to cope. Untreated, the inability to integrate emotions from physical, sexual or emotional abuse can have lasting effects. Sources of trauma can include neglect, abandonment, loss, natural disasters, car accidents, assault, rape, chronic illness and can also have been triggered by the #metoo movement. Family Counseling and Trauma Healing Center (The Healing Center Solvang) is an outpatient treatment program in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley. Dedicated to providing superior and holistic trauma disorder treatment, we understand that life-disrupting issues (substance abuse, disordered eating, severe anxiety, PTSD, depression, etc.) are often symptoms of underlying trauma. Our center utilizes our expertise and proven methods of therapy to transform post-traumatic stress anxiety and depression into post-traumatic growth and healing. With an atmosphere of respect and kindness, we help those who have been affected by painful and/or traumatizing events. Our multidisciplinary therapeutic and experiential services are provided by highly qualified clinicians who specialize in the treatment of trauma, addiction, and other mental health issues. Our mission is to provide a comprehensive, customized, intensive four-week day program offering individual, groups, and family therapy including the utilization of evidenced-based healing solutions such as EMDR and Trauma Stage Processing. The Center also includes customized movement/bodywork, art and yoga therapies, personal and career coaching, and acupuncture.
