About Family Resource Centers of Columbia County
The Family Resource Centers of Columbia County (FRC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families and advancing early childhood learning across Columbia County, NY. We believe every child deserves a strong start—no matter who they are, what they look like, or where they come from. We offer free playgroups, early literacy programs, parenting support, and community events designed to meet families where they are. Our work centers on equity, access, and joy. Core programs include: • Playgroups – Weekly sessions across the county that nurture child development, early literacy, and social connection. • Literacy Voyage – A traveling literacy and STEAM program for children in Pre-K–2nd grade, offered in partnership with local schools, libraries, and daycares. • Caregiver Support – Peer connection, parenting education, and resources to help caregivers feel confident and connected. • Field Trips & Events – Joyful, enriching experiences that build community and spark curiosity. • Resource Navigation – Helping families access vital services, from housing to early intervention. We proudly partner with the Hudson Youth Center, Columbia Opportunities Head Start, Columbia-Greene Community College, the Hudson Area Library, and many others. Together, we reach hundreds of children and caregivers each month—building stronger families and a brighter future for Columbia County. Let’s connect and work together to uplift every family and child in our community.
